It wasn't easy but the Tafuna Clippers made it look that way.

Starter Severo Vakaloloma shut out the Suva Red Sox despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Tafuna Clippers cruised to victory, 2-0. Vakaloloma allowed only 3 hits and rang up 14 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.

"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."

Thus far this season, Vakaloloma has worked 119.2 innings with 126 strikeouts en route to a 9-5 record and a 2.48 ERA.
