The Avarua Kiore defeated the Tonga Kings, 5-4, in Polynesia League action at Ballpark of Avarua. Avarua pitcher Mason Batty had a standout performance. Batty went 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 10. His record improves to 6-7. Avarua has now won 4 games in a row.

The Kiore got a big at-bat from shortstop Mason Tahi. For the game, Tahi was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Avarua a 5-3 lead.
