Vulcans Suffer 4-1 Loss to Port Moresby
|
Carlton Wara never let the Vulcans get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his cutter, to pitch the Wigmen to a win, 4-1. The win belongs to Lenny Monroe in relief. His record improves to 6-8. Mose Yandall took the loss for Vanuatu. The win for the Wigmen raised their record to 57-51.
Contributing to the Port Moresby win was George Rasolea. In the bottom of the seventh, the slugging first baseman had a 2-run home run. That made the score 3-1, the Wigmen in front.
"We had a good game plan," Wara said, "and we were able to execute it."
