Raucous Delorimier Stadium Crowd Propels Royals to 6-0 Victory; Series Tied at 1
|
The Montreal Royals knotted up the Wild Card Brawl at Delorimier Stadium today, thanks in large part to starter Yoriie Kichida. Kichida quieted the Hollywood Stars, enabling Montreal to grab the 6-0 win and move into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-3 series.
Kichida, a native of Nagano, Japan, was dealing all game. He kept Hollywood hitters off-balance, while giving the Royals 8.2 quality innings. Kichida threw 125 pitches, allowing 5 hits and striking out 15.
"We are one step closer to our ultimate goal of bringing a title back to the people of Montreal," Kichida said after the game.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Delorimier Stadium in Montreal.
