3B Azuma, St. Louis Complete $32,000 Deal
Wednesday, February 27th , 1974
Word of a huge deal between Manabu Azuma and St. Louis broke on BNN only minutes before it was officially announced.

The third baseman will join the Terriers for an estimated $32,000 per year over 1 year. Azuma has shown he is capable of putting together big money campaigns, which is exactly what Terriers ownership was looking for.

All-time Azuma has played in 795 games, batted .232 with 79 home runs and 570 base hits.
Seals Tanner Suffers Injury
Tuesday, February 26th , 1974
The Seals received bad news this morning. Josh Tanner will miss 8 weeks due to a strained oblique. He sustained the injury in the California-Ottawa game while running the bases. "I'm disappointed more than anything," he told reporters later in the day. "You can't help your team on the bench," Tanner sighed. "I'll do the rehab work and hope for a quick recovery."
Welch Injured, Day-to-Day

Las Vegas team officials speculated whether star center fielder Andre Welch would be scratched from today's ballgame after he suffered a strained oblique in yesterday's matchup with the Harlem Hellions. Welch denied reports that he would miss a lot of time, but added that he would not risk further injury by playing.
