Polaris Classic Game 1 Victory for Gray and Edmonton
|
The Polaris Classic got off to a quiet start today, with the host Edmonton Trappers taking a low-scoring 2-1 win over the Stockton 209. Edmonton right-hander Bill Gray was marvelous at John Ducey Park. The Trappers now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Gray, who leaned on his fastball, allowed no runs on just 3 hits over 7 innings for the Trappers. For the most part, Stockton hitters were simply overmatched.
"Runs were at a premium," said Edmonton manager Connor MacNamara.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at John Ducey Park in Edmonton.
