209 Fall Short at Hollywood, 6-5
|
The 6-5 Hollywood win over Stockton was due in large part to Bob James. The Stars left fielder went 2-5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Mark Wood, now 4-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 0. The Stars saw their record improve to 68-87.
The Stars procured the win, in large part because of catcher Jonathan Burke. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"This joint was rocking," said Burke.
