With 2-1 Win, Terriers Go to 78-76
|
St. Louis starter Emílio Peterson put a stranglehold on the Orlando offense. The right-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Terriers to a 2-1 win. In 6.1 innings, Peterson surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Getting the save was Denny McLain, his 6th.
Tommy Davis, the 33-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Davis contributed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put St. Louis up, 1-0.
"Emílio was able to execute his pitches," said St. Louis manager Mike O'Rory. "Simple as that."
The win boosted St. Louis to 78-76.
