The Harlem Hellions did just enough to secure a victory over the Chi-town Coalition, 5-4, at Coalition Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Ernest Glendenning. Glendenning went 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 1 hit, walked 3, and struck out 11. His record improves to 1-1. The win puts Harlem at 3-3.
Mark Scott, who finished 5th in the CL in stolen bases with 42 in 1964, helped out the Harlem cause in the top of the seventh inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the left fielder drove in one run.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Chi-town manager Lee Coates. "The effort was great."
