Starting pitcher Bill Gray was a major factor in the 3-1 Edmonton Trappers triumph over the Carolina Sea Unicorns. Gray picked up the win for Edmonton, going 5.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. The Trappers, now 5-1, have stormed out of the gates.
Edmonton relied on the hitting of Gary Hays to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Trappers on top, 2-0. For the game, Hays had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
