3-2 Loss Extends Carolina Losing Streak
|
The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.
In a low-scoring affair between the Chi-town Coalition and the Carolina Sea Unicorns, pitcher Marc Webster was the difference between victory and defeat. The Chi-town right-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 Coalition win. Hunter Cooper collected save number 1.
One of the clutch hits for Chi-town came from one of their biggest talents. In the bottom of the seventh with one out, Jonathan Parker, who finished 4th in the CL in wins above replacement with 7.7 last year, hit a run-scoring single to put the Coalition up, 3-2. For the game, the second baseman was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI.
"I like our moxie," said Coalition manager Lee Coates.
Chi-town has a record of 6-1.
