Pioneers Find a Way to Win
|
In a low-scoring game between Redwood and Las Vegas, pitcher Robby Woodrow was excellent. The Redwood right-hander helped his team knock off the Aces, 2-1. Redwood reliever Ernest Tate picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Scott Jefferson absorbed the loss. With the win, Redwood has a record of 22-18. Las Vegas falls to 17-23.
Redwood won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With no outs and Scott Jefferson on the mound for Las Vegas, right fielder Jerry Gregory hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Pioneers fans to their feet.
"Exhilarating win," said Gregory.
