Led by an outstanding performance from starter Ted Gilmore, the Redwood Pioneers topped the California Seals today by a score of 11-3 at Pioneer Ballpark. The 22-year-old Gilmore brought his top game to the mound, striking out 15 batters while allowing 6 hits and giving up 2 walks.

"He made a lot of good pitches out there," Seals manager Edmond Hanson said. "He made some of our guys look bad. We didn't help matters, but we really have to give him credit -- he didn't make many mistakes."

In the current season in 11 starts, Ted Gilmore has a record of 5-3 with 96 strikeouts in 72.2 innings and a 3.10 ERA.
