Losing Skid Reaches 8 Games for Knights
The Redwood Pioneers topped the Ottawa Knights by the score of 5-3, with the largest share of the credit going to center fielder Tomás Bernal. Bernal went 1-1 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Pioneers. Redwood reliever Kanko Fukuda picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Don Sutton absorbed the loss. Chandler Davis recorded the save for Redwood, his 13th of the season.

Bernal had a timely hit for Redwood in the bottom of the seventh. With Ottawa trailing 3-2, he turned a 1-2 screwball into a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season, making it 5-3, Redwood.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Bernal.

The losses continue to mount for Ottawa, which has now dropped 8 in a row.
