Seals Roll to 10-3 Win Over Sea Unicorns
The California Seals beat the Carolina Sea Unicorns, 10-3, at Sea Unicorns Ballpark. The win was due in part to catcher Johnny Bench, who was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Toufik Gras was the winner. Over 8 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, with no walks and 10 strikeouts. California is now 37-41. Carolina is 27-51.

California used the timely hitting of Dan Thomas to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Seals ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Bench, "and then get after it again."
