Redbirds Blank Hurricanes, Chase Wins
|
Louisville's Henry Chase brought his best stuff to Estadio Hiram Bithorn today, shutting down and shutting out the Puerto Rico Hurricanes 8-0. He racked up 10 strikeouts, surrendered 4 hits and issued 3 walks on his way to the victory.
"We barely made him work at all," Puerto Rico manager Paul Justice said later. "Louisville could probably pitch him again tomorrow if they wanted."
Chase has made 5 starts so far this year and put up a 3-2 won-lost record with a 3.58 ERA. In 37.2 innings he has allowed 36 hits, walked 13 and struck out 49.
