Stanley Pitches Bears to Shutout Victory
|
Jack Stanley had an impressive outing at Killers Ballpark today, hurling the Texarkana Bears to a 2-0 shutout victory over the Chrisman Killers.
"He threw strikes and he was always around the plate," Chrisman skipper Ted Williams said. "The ball was doing everything he wanted it to do. We hit some balls hard, but they were all right at the fielders."
On the day, the right-handed Stanley yielded 6 hits and tallied 9 strikeouts with 1 walk.
Up to now Stanley has compiled an ERA of 1.48 with a 10-1 mark over 14 starts. He has 96 strikeouts in 97 innings and has held opponents to a .186 batting average.
