The Iron City Eddies overcame a fine performance by Orlando shortstop Dick McAuliffe to defeat the Oracles, 4-3, at The Omnipotent Palace. McAuliffe went 3-3 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Donald Talley got the win, improving to 1-1. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Billy McCool earned the save for Iron City, his 3rd of the year.

Jed Hembree had a big hit for Iron City in the top of the fourth inning. With Iron City trailing 1-0, Hembree hit a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Eddies up, 3-1.

"The vibe's good," said Iron City manager Sergio Tamayo. "We've got to keep it going."

The Eddies, now 5-1, have stormed out of the gates.
