Stars Drop Rainiers, 5-2
|
The Hollywood Stars got a good effort from starter Jack Prieto in defeating the Seattle Rainiers at Rainiers Stadium. The final score was 5-2. Hollywood reliever Joël Garcia was the winner. His record is now 3-4. The losing pitcher was Xavier Reece. Rich McMahon, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.
Hollywood used the timely hitting of Jimmie Hall to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Stars on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Hall called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
The win gives the Stars a record of 11-29.
