McDaniel Breezes to Shutout Victory
|
Scott McDaniel kept the opposition off the scoreboard and the Hollywood Stars were all smiles after winning 2-0 against the Seattle Rainiers at Rainiers Stadium today. The left-handed McDaniel gave up no runs in his start, permitted 7 hits and had 8 strikeouts.
"If there was a stat for 'team shutout,' this would be it," McDaniel said later. "My catcher called a great game, guys delivered at the plate and when I messed something up the guys behind me were where they needed to be."
McDaniel has made 9 starts so far this year and put up a 3-5 won-lost record with a 4.72 ERA. In 53.1 innings he has allowed 57 hits, walked 9 and struck out 49.
