Royals Collect 3-1 Win Over 209
The Montreal Royals had to overcome a fine performance from Stockton pitcher Millard Olson to grab a 3-1 win at Stockton Field. Olson allowed no runs over 6 innings. Montreal pitcher Dave Wiggins got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Hidetada Kitakawa got the loss. Montreal is now 25-22. Stockton is 26-21.

Montreal used a timely hit from Tadataka Miura to get the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run double in the top of the 13th inning to put the Royals ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Montreal manager George Willis said.
