Redbirds Take Down Rays, 3-2
|
Louisville starter Tristan Gilles had a strong outing against the Honolulu Rays at Honolulu Grounds. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 3-2 win. Bert Blyleven, credited with the win, is now 2-1. He allowed no runs on no hits. The win makes Louisville 20-33.
Louisville used the timely hitting of George Hendrick to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Redbirds on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Hoyt Wilhelm, the Louisville manager.
