Luis Herrera exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Boothbay Harbor Fields.

The Boothbay Harbor third baseman had a field day in the 15-1 triumph over the Killaloe Brewers, finishing 5-for-6.

"My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."

Herrera must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Luis Herrera struck out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Gregory Watkins in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.

Currently Herrera has 2 home runs and a .426 batting average.
