Pioneers Dealt 4-3 Loss by San Francisco
|
The San Francisco Meatballs did just enough to sneak past the Redwood Pioneers, 4-3, at 420 Park. San Francisco pitcher Gene Bishop, in particular, had a standout performance. Armando Martínez recorded the save, his 28th. San Francisco's record now stands at 68-36, placing them second in the Canis Division.
With the game tied, 1-1, in the bottom of the fifth, Bishop had a key at-bat for San Francisco. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Bishop, who is tied for 9th in the CL in wins with 10, hit a run-scoring single off Ronnie Drake, making the score 2-1, Meatballs.
"We put together a nice win," Bishop said.
