Aces Top Blue Jays, 3-2
|
Atlantic City Aces starter Enrique Heredia was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Toronto Blue Jays, 3-2. The winning pitcher was Heredia, now 6-8. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Aces.
The Blue Jays had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Aces going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Thurman Hoffman came to the plate. Hoffman hit a 2-run home run on a 2-0 changeup from Toronto hurler Yeong-suk Park. It was Hoffman's 18th home run of the year.
After the game, Atlantic City manager Rubén Elías applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
