Skidding Knights Lose 8th Straight
|
Redwood Pioneers starter Ronnie Drake turned in an exceptional performance against the Ottawa Knights at John Otto Field at Mathews Bridge, resulting in a Redwood win, 1-0. The winner was Joe Lee in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Ben Underwood took the loss. The losing skid has reached 8 games for Ottawa.
Bobby Murcer was the walk-off hero for Redwood. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Pioneers shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We put together a nice win," Murcer said.
