Bombers Take Nail-Biter Over Athletics
LemonHart Park was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Bronx Bombers and Philadelphia Athletics.

The Bronx Bombers faced a tough opponent in Philadelphia pitcher Bob Wiggins, but did just enough to pull out the victory at LemonHart Park by a final score of 5-4. Wiggins went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. The 6th-place Bombers have won 5 consecutive games.

Bronx won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With one out and Bob Locker on the mound for Philadelphia, shortstop Roger Allen hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Bombers fans to their feet.

"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Allen told the Bronx Daily News.
