A good performance from center fielder Amos Otis helped the Toronto Blue Jays defeat the Redwood Pioneers, 12-3. Otis went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Blue Jays. Tug McGraw snagged the win in relief. In 2.2 innings, the left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit. He's now 2-2 on the season. Toronto now owns a record of 80-59.
Jim Fregosi chipped in for Toronto, stroking a crucial run-scoring triple in the bottom of the seventh inning. For the game, the shortstop went 2 for 4 with a triple, while scoring 2 runs.
