It was a smooth and solid performance by Pedro Peña of the Seattle Rainiers against the Stockton 209 today. He crafted a fine 2-hitter to blank the 209 3-0. He chalked up 14 strikeouts and 1 walk along the way.
"It certainly makes my job easy when my pitcher tosses a shutout," said Seattle skipper Matt Shepherd. "I can just sit back, watch and enjoy."
In season stats Peña shows a 11-4 record in 20 games, 150.2 innings, 245 strikeouts and a 2.09 ERA.
