Stockton 209 starter David Torres was in fine form against the St. Louis Terriers at Terrier Park, leading his team to a win, 5-4. The winning pitcher was Torres, now 14-2. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 7. Bill Thomas earned his 6th save in 8 chances.

Stockton used the bat of Paco Ortega to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the 209 ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Stockton manager Glenn Patterson.

With the win, Stockton upped its record to 54-41.
