Green Holds Monsters Scoreless
|
It wasn't easy but the Sydney High Voltage made it look that way.
Starter Tad Green shut out the Pittsburgh Monsters despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Sydney High Voltage cruised to victory, 2-0. Green allowed only 3 hits and rang up 11 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."
This season Green has compiled a 10-2 mark with a 2.94 ERA.
