In an impressive outing, Roberto Rey blanked the Plano Slammers 3-0.

"I'm getting a lot more downward movement instead of side to side. That side-to-side stuff can get hit a long way," said Rey, who is throwing with more of an overhand motion.

"It's not rocket science. It was just a little adjustment, but that's all it took."

The Watsonville hurler held Plano scoreless, allowed 4 hits, chalked up 9 strikeouts and yielded 1 walk.

So far this year Rey has made 10 starts, tossed 75.2 innings, struck out 75 batters and walked 16. His record is 5-4 with a 2.74 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .212 batting average.
