Thomas, Redbirds Too Much for Oracles
The 9-4 Louisville win over Orlando was due largely to Kerry Thomas. The Redbirds second baseman went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. James Jacobson, the winner, goes to 1-0. He allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 14 strikeouts over 7 innings. The Redbirds have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 3rd win in 12 games.

With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Chet Small had a game-changing hit. The Redbirds left fielder slammed a run-scoring single off Gregory Allen, making the score 4-3, Louisville.

"Nice to get this one," said Thomas. "Wins have been hard to come by."
