Takahashi Shuts Down Bombers, 4-0
Saturday, August 19th , 1972
In a remarkable performance, Chi-town Coalition starter Nori Takahashi beat the Bronx Bombers 4-0 in an impressive 2-hit shutout.

"My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this."

The Coalition hurler finished with 13 strikeouts and 1 walk. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.

"It was a rough one for my guys," Bronx manager Jason Owen said following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."

In 25 starts this season Takahashi has recorded a 11-12 record and a 4.47 ERA.
