Takahashi Spins 5-0 Shutout Sunday, July 23rd , 1972 Chi-town Coalition starter Nori Takahashi really did a number on the California Seals today, shutting them out 5-0 on 5 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 3 walks and had 7 strikeouts. "We didn't have good at-bats," said California manager Edmond Hanson. "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Takahashi."
