Álvarez Day-to-Day with Injury Thursday, August 10th , 1972 Chi-town team officials speculated whether star center fielder Juan Álvarez would be scratched from today's ballgame after he suffered knee tendinitis in yesterday's matchup with the Redwood Pioneers. Álvarez denied reports that he would miss a lot of time, but added that he would not risk further injury by playing. Álvarez is currently batting .293 with 36 home runs, 76 RBIs and 58 runs scored. He has 92 hits in 314 at-bats. |
