Wednesday, August 23rd , 1972
In a powerful performance that left the fans at Ballpark of Texarkana buzzing, Texarkana Bears left fielder Michael Ellis blasted a trio of home runs en route to a 11-4 win over the Fort Myers Armada.

"Everything was clicking," Ellis told the press. "My timing was good and I got pitches I could handle and I didn't miss them."

Ellis shined brilliantly in the win, with 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored.

"It's not just one guy, it's everybody," Bears manager Roger Snyder said. "Michael played great but it takes more than one guy to win a game."

Michael Ellis hit a three-run home run off Rubén López in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Gerard O'Toole in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Gerard O'Toole in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th.

For the season, Ellis is hitting at a .279 clip with 23 home runs, 58 RBIs and has scored 45 runs. He has 83 hits, 32 walks and a .359 on-base percentage.
