Melton 5-for-5 Against Hamilton Tuesday, July 25th , 1972 Today at Ballpark of Winthrop, the Hamilton Hurricanes topped the Prairie Pirates in spite of a standout batting performance by shortstop Kevin Melton. Melton had a very impressive day at the plate, spanking Hamilton pitching for 5 base hits, but couldn't do enough for a win. Hamilton whipped Prairie by the score of 6-4. Kevin Melton singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and singled in the 8th. This year Melton is hitting .318 with 10 home runs and 44 RBIs in 88 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .384 with 32 walks and 62 runs scored. |
