Razor-Sharp Macías Blanks Toronto Saturday, August 5th , 1972 Calgary Cannons pitcher Raúl Macías blanked the Toronto Red Riders 5-0 at Backlash Ballpark today, tossing a 4-hitter while issuing 1 walk and collecting 7 strikeouts. After his sharp shutout performance, he shared credit with the rest of the club. "I was just locked in out there and some of that is due to having a catcher who has such a great feel for hitters," Macías said. "I couldn't do what I did without all the guys out there today." So far in 22 appearances this season, Macías has recorded 14 wins and sustained 5 losses. He has pitched 169.2 innings, yielded 166 hits, fanned 162 and has a 4.08 ERA. |
