Sod Poodles End Paciorek's Streak Wednesday, June 28th , 1972 The John's Island Sod Poodles pitching staff did its job today, holding hot-hitting Tom Paciorek hitless in 4 at-bats during the club's 11-6 victory over the Spruce Grove Eagles at Spruce Ballpark. The disappointing performance ended a 21-game hitting streak for the left fielder. "I'm a little down right now," Paciorek said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too." Paciorek's current batting average stands at .316 and he has chalked up 6 home runs and 44 RBIs. |
