San Agustin Slams 5 Hits for Motley
Sunday, July 2nd , 1972
Motley first baseman Diego San Agustin could do no wrong in today's 10-4 win over the Rebels as he collected 5 hits.

"Things were in his favor in every one of his at-bats," Rebels skipper George Davis said to the press corps after the game. "He got hitters' counts."

San Agustin agreed, saying that getting ahead early in the counts was "the key" to his game.

"Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit," he said. "You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."

Diego San Agustin singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Juan Acosta in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.

Currently San Agustin is batting .308 with 12 home runs, 31 RBIs and 39 runs scored.
