Big Day for Dillon: Swats 5 Hits Saturday, July 29th , 1972 Lodi catcher Edward Dillon had a day to remember today, 5-for-5 against the North Ridgeville River Bandits at Orion Stadium as the Orions picked up a 16-5 victory. "He was patient up there today," Lodi skipper Tex Hughson told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly aggressive. Dillon has a tendency to chase bad balls sometimes." Edward Dillon singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off José Macías in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, walked in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. This year Dillon is hitting .355 with 10 home runs and 49 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .413 clip and scored 52 runs. |
