Red-Hot Moore Scorches Mets
Sunday, July 30th , 1972
Pete Moore was smoking all game at the plate, but couldn't finish his day with a victory cigar.

After the 24-year-old Truckee Scrappys second baseman tallied 5 hits in 5 at-bats, he was forced to watch as his club dropped the 10-3 decision to the London Mets.

"That was no fun," Moore said to reporters after the game. "You hate to lose any game but it's even worse somehow to feel like you did enough to win."

Pete Moore singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

So far this year Moore has 9 home runs and a .319 batting average.
