That's exactly what Dewitt Thomas did today at Field of the Monsters, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 25-7. "It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Thomas said. "Good things happen, when that happens." The Portland Pickles center fielder blistered the Pittsburgh Monsters for 3 hits, batted in 6 runs and scored 4 times. "It ain't like we weren't trying," Pittsburgh manager Joe Schultz Jr said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today." Dewitt Thomas flied out in the 1st, hit a GRAND SLAM off Glenn Middleton in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, grounded out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Juan Negrón in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Juan Negrón in the 8th and walked in the 9th. Thomas is swinging at a .246 pace on the year with 14 home runs, 28 RBIs and 23 runs scored. He has played in 36 games. |
