Phillips Is King of Swing: Goes Deep 3 Times
Sunday, September 3rd , 1972
St. Peter Orioles third baseman Phil Phillips had a magnificent game against the Lashburn Spurs today, rocketing three balls out of Oriole Park at Camden Yards to help the Orioles take the 10-8 victory.

"I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes."

For the game, Phillips went 3-for-4 with 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored.

"There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," St. Peter manager Victor Scott said later. "Seems like Phil found his home run stroke today."

Phil Phillips hit a three-run home run off Sergio Peña in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Sergio Peña in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Vincente Santiago in the 5th, walked in the 7th and struck out in the 8th.

Phillips is currently batting .274 with 48 home runs and 101 RBIs.
