Nichols Stymies Killers Sunday, August 24th , 1997 It was a smooth and solid performance by Rod Nichols of the Iowa Oaks against the Kill Devil Hills Killers today. He crafted a fine 4-hitter to blank the Killers 8-0. He chalked up 5 strikeouts and no walks along the way. "It certainly makes my job easy when my pitcher tosses a shutout," said Iowa skipper Mitch DeVita. "I can just sit back, watch and enjoy." For the season Nichols has compiled a 7-2 record with a 3.09 ERA. |
