Cooper Tosses Shutout Against Golden Eagles
Tuesday, September 2nd , 1997
Eric Cooper was throwing strikes early and getting ahead in the count, his manager said after the Lodi Padres hurler tossed a 2-hit, complete game shutout against the Little Silver Golden Eagles.

"I went right after each hitter, trying to get ahead in the count," said Cooper. "I wanted them to swing the bats and keep my pitch count down. It worked. I felt strong the whole game, even in the last two innings."

Cooper walked 1 and struck out 2 in the 1-0 victory.

On the season Cooper has 7 wins and 5 losses and a 2.74 ERA.
