The standout performance belonged to Houston pitcher and Mexico City, Mexico, native Tomás Mendoza. Mendoza got the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 5.1 innings. Mendoza allowed no runs. Picking up the save was Jon Foster, his 3rd.
