Milkers Stumble, Lose to Beavers
The Vancouver Beavers defeated the Milwaukee Milkers, 8-4, at Milkers Field today. Leading the charge for Vancouver was first baseman Roberto Fuentes. He went 2-5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Theron Rosales picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 7. On the season, he is now 1-0. The Beavers saw their record improve to 36-44.

Vancouver used a well-timed hit by Roger Schmidt to capture the win. The shortstop socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Beavers ahead, 4-3. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Schmidt told the Vancouver Citizen.
