Roldán Lifts Outlaws to 7-4 Win
|
St. Louis and Ottawa got after it at Forest Park.
The St. Louis Outlaws topped the Ottawa Wendigo by the score of 7-4, with the largest share of the credit going to second baseman Joel Roldán. Roldán was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 3 times for the Outlaws. James Sullivan, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 5 hits, while walking 5 and striking out 11. His record now stands at 10-2.
The Outlaws got a lift from third baseman Gerald Wood, who in the top of the fifth stroked a 1-1 slider into center for a 2-run single. It was his 76th hit of the season and put the Outlaws ahead, 6-4.
Postgame, Outlaws manager Baustin Smith praised Roldán. "Having ACE in the lineup makes us a better team."
With the win, the Outlaws improved to 56-28.
